About me
My name is Devon McGowan-Wachs and Declared Studio was born from a lifelong love of letterpress and a passion for branding. My interest began while studying Visual Communication Design at the University of Kansas, where I was first introduced to letterpress printing—a medium that continues to shape my work today. I went on to work in branding in New York and London, building a career with global brands, and later refined my practice with a Master’s degree from Central Saint Martins. Through this experience, I’ve developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling and creating cohesive, timeless design systems.
My journey into wedding and event stationery began with designing my own wedding, which soon evolved into something more when my planner encouraged me to offer my work to others. Since then, I’ve found great joy in collaborating with couples and being part of such meaningful moments. Today, I specialize in bespoke wedding stationery that blends refined branding with the tactile beauty of letterpress— creating designs that not only set the tone for an event, but become lasting keepsakes. is truly an honor to be a part of one of the most important day’s in someone’s life.
